You’re probably wondering by reading this title “There’s an Earth 2!?” and the response would be yes, it was so great they had to make another. Unfortunately, we have no rockets to visit it, but you’ll be able to get a glimpse of it in a new dark comedy series called We’ve Tripled by Cheeszy. We’ve Tripled stand out for it’s eccentric characters and emphasis on family. Today, Cheeszy discusses with us his new series and it’s creation.
Hello! Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background in arts?
Hi, my name is Kalyn, also known as Cheeszy or “The cheeziest weirdo” online. I’m a self taught cartoonist, animator, and art junkie! i’m currently in collage for a major in arts and animation as well as a minor in Zoology studies. I’ve been drawing ever since I was 4, and since then, I’ve never been able to put down a pad and pencil!
You have this series called “We’ve Tripled” and it seems to be developed over a long period of time. Can you tell us when you began it and what you were looking to do with it? How has it evolved? Were you expecting it to come out the way it has?
“We’ve Tripled” began as a sort of random series name I gave to a bunch of characters I had lying around. no series was to begin development until 2016, where i finally settled on the creation of a plot or story. It has had many iterations and different surnames, such as “Pinewood creek” and “Slushy and friends”, which was the original placeholder for another one of my characters who would be developed later named Brixy. I don’t think I could’ve ever expected my series to transform and morph as many times as it has, and to tell you the truth, I didn’t think I’d get anything out of it, but I am eternally grateful to have such an interest as strange and wonderful as WT is. The main thing I realized as I continued writing WT through the years was the growth of the characters and of myself. It was almost like as I grew and matured, the ways I perceived and wrote about the characters’ challenges became more than just a silly plot to me, it was genuine.
In it’s current state, what can you tell us about your series?
We’ve Tripled is about an obscure “family” of creatures living in an alternate dimension of New York City on the planet of Earth 2. This E2 is a safe haven for all of the nonhuman kind, while humans back on our normal earth try to gain resources and attack E2 citizens through invisible “portals” that connect the two dimensions. There is a long and dark history with E2 citizens and Humans that date back all the way to the times of Greek mythology. The planet and universe for the nonhumans was created by a goddess named “Omephia”, who, with the prayers of other struggling creatures, created an alternate dimension to let them truly live in peace and to develop society without the fears of humans.
fast forward to 2030, and their NYC is as rambunctious and chaotic as ours. in a quaint little neighborhood near the outskirts of the city live the Hendersons.
Our main characters include Inky henderson, a once human now turned Robot through human experimentation done by his father back in communist ruled russia. he struggles to keep his true identity hidden, while also serving to protect those from his own original kind.
Hexy Wasabi, a Hexle with a brain the size of a large walnut and an affinity for inky’s general presence. He’s annoying, he’s green, and he’s as wacky as they come.
Brixy and Leo are the “average joes” of the house. While deeply in love and trying their best to stay out of hyjinx, it never goes how they expect. Brixy is a sweet and caring Ghostly feline with a love for baking, but can be rough and tough when she needs to be, especially to kick sense into inky. Leo on the other hand is a sometimes mellow and understanding Australian demon cat of the west, who tries not to let people (inky) ruin his relationship with his girlfriend. him and inky do not get along at all, sometimes leading into fights of varying degrees of danger.
Eltra Henderson is Inky’s adopted daughter. She’s a sassy little bear cub who loves all things demonic and occultish, and has a demonicon book she carries with her everywhere. While not summoning the spawn of satan, she loves spending time with the family and begging for ice cream and a nice pretty pink princess bike.
and lastly, is Inkbit, Inkys “adopted alien brother” who looks suspiciously like him despite them being not related at all. Inkbit is a Timid, Tall and incredibly dangerous war machine, as he was originally used to conquer the E2 solar system. He loves space, bunnies, and trying to learn earthly customs. to say he doesn’t get out much would be an understatement.
Our main six interact with the city around them with a cast of other characters such as Douglas, the sweet talking cowboy seahorse president of the company AK (and the US), A smiley Robotic newscaster star named M.R. Frez, a religious zealot scientist named Dr. Mizzery, and even a cutsie psychopathic candy store owner named Piper Puddaloo. The story follows the Hendersons as they try to live their normal lives, while slowly discovering that E2 isn’t the perfect safehaven of a planet that it is. With weird government experiments, A strange purple cannibalistic Rodent, and Human interference, the Hendersons must stick together…or at least die trying. WT is aimed at an older audience; with the really dark and more deep topics it covers. Of course, though, some of the story is a comedy and slice of life. WT aims to cover Abuse, Religion, Sexuality, gender identity, health, death, and more.
What’s your favorite character you’ve made from the series?
One of my favorite characters is M.R. Frez. I see a lot of myself in him and his general programmed demeanor in life. but for the main cast, Inky and Leo are two of my most favorite. Writing their fluctuating relationship has been an incredible experience, and the growth of both characters is something I am endlessly excited to share. I’m not good with picking favorites though, so I’m just gonna default to all of them! (except Billy and Mizzery. if you know, you know.)
Any inspirations you’ve had in the series and/or when making art?
In terms of art, my inspirations are endless. From various cartoonists to abstract art and vintage cartoons, it’s hard to pinpoint even one inspiration for me, as I’m inspired by a lot of media. Cartoon Channels like Nickelodeon and Cartoon network and various youtube series i watch are my biggest inspirations. I like to take elements from various things ranging across various decades, such as a 60’s UPA halftone style to more modern early 2000’s art. I try to branch my style to fit the varying degrees of WT as a whole, and for what I enjoy in general.
As the project expands, what are your goals for it?
As it stands, WT is starting out as a Webcomic, which will soon be published into a Series of graphic novels. I plan for it to become an animated indie series in the near future however. It’s my dream to contribute to the possibility of a 2D animated Dark cartoon show.

To my continued supportive audience and future fans, to my close friends and family, to the WT comic team, to my partner in crime, violet, i cannot say thank you enough. you keep me going and mean so much to me in indescribable ways. Now that our suspicions were confirmed of the series having a 60’s art vibe my wife and I have no shame in admitting that it’s visuals could be described as groovy. There hasn’t been a series focused on family that replicates the 60’s style since Adult Swim’s Venture Brothers that ended in 2023.
